I just discovered these amazing drawings by Sidney Pink. He’s an American artist working out of Tokyo, Japan. Other than that, I wasn’t able to find too much information on him.

Great sculptural work by Kumi Yamashita. This particular work titled “City View” is from 2003, so it’s a bit of an old news, but I really like what she has done. The physical components of the work are aluminum numbers and a light source. The actual content of the work is the shadow cast by those components though. Yamashita has since done several more works playing with shadow, but this is by far my favorite piece.

This is a great concept for a bookshelf design. Simple and brilliant.

mac bag

It hasn’t been all that long since Apple launched the Macbook Air, but several designers and design studios have released their versions of the infamous manila envelope case design. This waxed cotton version designed by Michael Leung is my favorite so far. It’s quite understated and simple. I don’t think I’ll ever get myself a Macbook Air, but if Leung makes a Macbook Pro version, I think I’d get one right away.
