jane mount

Once again I can’t really explain what it is (not that I ever have a good explanation of the works I like), but I love these book paintings by Jane Mount. I guess I have a liking for works that capture details of everyday life that might otherwise be easily ignored. I believe you can tell a lot about someone by their book collection. Having said that, I am becoming a bit self-conscious about my own collection… time to visit amazon… If you like the book paintings, be sure to visit her website for other amazing works.

paper shields

Sean Morris is an artist working out of Australia. I don’t know how to describe it, but there’s something about his drawings that keep me wanting more. I’d love to hang the second one “Tree of ten men” on my wall. He has a portfolio website called illsean, and a blog where he posts his latest drawings.

I just came across this Obama poster by Scott Hansen. They will be sold for $70 each with 100% of the profit going to Obama’s campaign. I usually don’t post about anything political, but you have to admit - this poster is nice. I like it even better than the Shepard Fairy versions. The artist has some amazing posters on his site, ISO50. I love everything about them - the typography, the layout, and especially the colors.

you can buy the poster @ [Barack Obama] (soon anyway… they’re not on sale just yet.)

keep calm and carry on

I’ve known about these posters for a while now, but am only now starting to want (need) them.

animals on the underground

I know these must be a bit old, but I just discovered them last week(ish). Paul Middlewick discovered the first animal on the London underground map (an elephant) back in 1988. Since then over 30 new animals have been discovered. You can visit animals on the underground to see more images. They even sell merchandise and donate 50% of the profit to IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare).
