It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Travis Millard‘s works. Needless to say, I was excited to wake up this morning and find “Los Angeles I’m Yours” had posted an interview with Travis. The blog “Los Angeles I’m Yours” focuses on – you guessed it – LA based art, design, lifestyle and culture, so the interview focuses on Travis’ sentiments on working out of LA. However, you get an insight into how his art career has developed, and the photographs showing his work space are, for the lack of a better word, simply awesome. Go check out the interview here.

Last weekend was the Eastside Culture Crawl. I had a lot of fun meeting hundreds of people, talking about art, whales and clouds. The turnout was amazing despite the cold weather. I wish we had a couple more events like these in the city.

Jeff Staple just updated his 1-2-1 series with a James Jean interview. I’ve always enjoyed James Jean’s illustrations and paintings. In the past few years James has slowly transitioned into the fine arts world, and it’s interesting to hear him talk about that transition in the interview.

Hyuro is a street artist working out of Spain. I couldn’t find much more information on him(I guess a certain amount of anonymity goes with the job description). Wonderfully creepy and beautiful.

It’s a few days late, but I have some images from the Opening night of Andrea Wan’s new solo show – Dream on, little ghosts. The turnout was great and of course Andrea’s works were as amazing as always. Visit Hearty Magazine to see more works from the show.

Lately I’ve been exploring the world of hand drawn/painted typography and signs, so I was super excited to come across Scott Albrecht’s work. Scott is an artist and graphic designer based in New York. I especially love his use of found objects as canvas(?).
