The first and only bike I owned was a yellow bmx. My dad bought it for me when I was 7. Maybe it’s that memory, but I find myself wanting to get a yellow bike. This single-speed city bike by Alta seems just perfect for me. Although not exactly a pure single speed bike (not only does it have breaks, but the wheels don’t lock when you stop peddling) I think it would be perfect.

I know these must be a bit old, but I just discovered them last week(ish). Paul Middlewick discovered the first animal on the London underground map (an elephant) back in 1988. Since then over 30 new animals have been discovered. You can visit animals on the underground to see more images. They even sell merchandise and donate 50% of the profit to IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare).

FLOCKS is a Dutch knitwear brand started by Christien Meindertsma. The Rotterdam based designer creates these ‘Urchin’ plush chairs along with other amazing knitted works. Each Urchin apparently comes with an identity card to let you know where the materials come from. To quote the people at inhabitat, buying one of these seems more like adopting a pet than acquiring a piece of furniture.
