There’s something nostalgic about Berry W. Ferry’s photographs.

At first I thought these were laser engraved Brooks saddles, but it turns out they’re all hand carved. I wouldn’t have the nerves to put a knife to mine, but I guess that’s just me…

It seems most baristas in the specialty coffee world – at least the ones I’ve come across – seem to have a love for bicycles, sustainable lifestyle, and ofcourse, coffee. Kickstand coffee, based out of Brooklyn combines all three in their brilliant business model. They operate out of two custom-built carts transported by bicycles that join together to form a make shift coffee stand. This kind of operation is possible in part because of their simple menu: hot, made-to-order pour-over coffee, and cold, cold-brew coffee. Having just gotten into pour-overs myself, I was very excited to come across kickstand coffee and their operation. Just one more reason for my longing to visit New York.
