Lately I’ve been exploring the world of hand drawn/painted typography and signs, so I was super excited to come across Scott Albrecht’s work. Scott is an artist and graphic designer based in New York. I especially love his use of found objects as canvas(?). You can see more of his works on his website, but be sure to check out his flickr stream for his show photos as well.
My studio-mate, illustrator, artist, and all around awesome friend Andrea Wan is having a solo show at Catalog Gallery. If you’re in Vancouver, or anywhere close by, you don’t want to miss this!
So… it’s been a while – almost half a year in-fact, but I’m back. The blog has a new design and somewhat of a new direction. I’ll be focusing more on personal updates from now on.
I have a solo-show at Collage Collage, which I’ll be taking down around the 20th. If you’re in Vancouver go check it out; I have a 7 by 4 ft whale painting, the largest I’ve ever done. The shop also has a great selection of illustration books and prints. Right now I’m busy preparing for the East-side Culture Crawl (Nov 18th ~ 20th). I’ve been experimenting with new mediums – hopefully I can put some of them together for the open studio.
P.S. I’m still working out the details of this new design. Let me know what you think or if you find any kinks/errors. Thanks!
I am a huge fan of the Field Notes Brand and anything they come out with, but the new “____ Edition” notebooks are definitely my favorite so far. While keeping with the classic look of their famous Field Notes, you’re able to customize each notebook by applying the title yourself using the included dry transfer sheets. Brilliant!
Stacey Rozich draws and paints folk inspired mythical creatures. I love how she blends animals, masks and colorful patterns to create these amazing monsters… I must say I’m quite jealous of her watercolor/gouche skills. Below is the link to her blog, but she will be moving to a new website soon : staceyrozich.com
